Air Display 2 App Reviews

Super useful

Extremely useful for extending my Macs display. I almost wanna buy a second iPad to use it on multiple!

Decent, but needs improvements

It’s easy to connect, and easy to learn. However, on the fourth generation iPad, the mouse moves unnaturally slowly. And the mouse looks kind of huge on the iPad screen. It also lags very bad, I guess it requires A higher quality Internet connection. Hope to see improvements.

Works well

Only good if you have a reliable wifi connection. Otherwise you need to set up an ad hoc wifi network, which means youll be offline unless you are plugged in some other way.

Love it.

Easily worth the 9.99 to have a portable mirror of my iMac. Works flawlessly. Reviews saying the mouse is sluggish are overblown; with a good wireless network, works every bit as well as AirPlay to an Apple TV. Great app.

Doesnt work on Windows 8.1

The driver detects my iPad and then connects for one second, after which my PC screen promptly goes black and my iPad loses connection.

Crashed and corrupted my Mac

The host software for air display seriously messed up my MacBook Pro (running maverick OS). It crashed and crashed again immediately after install. I had to reboot the machine from a backup. I strongly advise anyone from buying this as I lost a full days work.

Doesnt work with Win 8

Im hoping for a refund.

Windows 8.1 works just fine.

To the reviewers who say this doesnt work with Windows 8.1 - check your firewall settings. It works just fine here after editing mine. Still have to play with it to give a proper review but at least its functional.

Scam

They dont tell you that you have to also pay another $22 for the apple Air Display OSX software. In essence I just wasted $10. Im not impressed!

Crashes continuously!!!

I chose to ignore negative reviews and assumed the users were using the app incorrectly. I wasted $10. This app crashes every time. I get a black blank screen where only the mouse pointer works. I am guessing Windows 8 is not properly tested even though they claim that it is. DO NOT BUY until they fix their problems.

Does everything it says it does.

Works great, doesnt ever crash. Works very smoothly.

Great

Great app very cool when u have your macbook, ipad, iphone and Apple TV using the same screen:)

Ok, but not good for video editing in Final Cut

Its a good app for what it promises. I was hoping for some video functionality, crossing my fingers that I could use the iPad as a secondary display for my viewer in Final Cut. No such luck. This may be useful from time to time, but I was really hoping for some video, which as of now is very choppy. I could not find any reviews detailing how good the video would be with this software, so I played the guinea pig on this one.

Best $10 I’ve spent this month.

Works great so far. I’ve been using an iPad 2 and an iPhone 5 as second and third screens and that is just way cool! And no, you don’t need to download the $22 mac app for this app to function.

Great for multitasking - Works great with Windows 8

Installation was a breeze. Just downloaded the drivers, restarted my computer, and within a minute I had a second display. IT WORKS GREAT WITH WINDOWS 8! I tend to do a lot of streaming through Twitch and I was looking at getting a second monitor just to moderator and view the chat. Downloading this app saved me hundreds of dollars. Only issue is the mouse lagging and the latency, but for static images and basic text, it works just fine. Thanks Avatron!

Awesome Secondary Display

Works as an amazing secondary display over wifi. However, screen-tap as mouse interaction not the quickest to respond in the world. Perfect for what it is.

IPad mini works great as a second display

Great app!

Great concept .. Works awesome

Love this app so easy to use. Had disconnect issue at first then realized my ipad update needed to be installed. Works great now .. Thanks! Dont hesitate to purchase and works with windows 8

Thanks,for breaking my computer

So bad. You owe me 500 dollars. Stupid creators.

Good Idea needs improvement

Got this app setup and working with my MacBook Pro pretty easily. Problem is with my iPad w/retina display the text is way too tiny to read in the iPads native resolution. There doesnt seem to be any way to scale to a different resolution. You can change the text size in the app you are using but that doesnt help with text in the apps UI, and when you move the window back to your Mac screen it becomes way too big. Hopefully, they can introduce a feature to scale the resolution on the iPad so you can match the size of the text to your Mac screen. Otherwise, this app wont be very useful.
